Our campsites Charente-Maritime
Our campsites with a swimming pool in Charente-Maritime: the joys of the ocean
The Charente-Maritime is a charming department along the Atlantic in the West of France. Very watery, because of the many streams that run through it, it is located between the green and the blue, and has a varied relief: plains, forests, sparsely wooded expanses, low plateaus, and of course swamps due to the many streams. Its 233-km coastline is completed by an additional 230 km coastlines thanks to the presence of four Charente islands: Ile de Ré, Ile d'Aix, Île d'Oléron and Île de Nôle. The rivers, the most important fresh water sources, are four: Sèvre, Charente, Gironde and Seudre. Its fauna and flora are very rich: sub-Mediterranean flora, represented by gvaves, cistus, mimosa, olive trees, palm trees, hollyhocks and oaks, migratory bird fauna, including white and black storks. The Charente-Maritime is therefore a good destination for holidays in green and blue, in nature. And of course, to be closer to nature and the sites you want to visit, visit the Airotel campsites: comfortable, luxurious and accessible, they are made for all desires and all budgets. Visit the Islands of Oleron, Fouras, La Rochelle and Chatelaillon-Plage.

Island of Oleron
An island with a natural and wild beauty, it seduces lovers of nature by its authenticity. Take a stroll on the beach or along the coast, in its marshes and observe more closely the existing species, both faunistic and floristic, between pines, oaks, oyats. Fouras is a village that has brilliantly transformed: from a fishing village it has become a sought seaside resort. For lovers of architecture, you can admire the villas of the 19th and 20th centuries, a pretty outline of the island, which shelters a vast wooded park. And of course, Father Fouras having passed through the peninsula, you can observe the famous Fort Boyard. Do not forget to taste the seafood, shellfish, oysters and mussels, the most common and fresh products.
The Rochelle and Châtelaillon Plage
Châtelaillon Plage is an eclectic city: between modernism and antiquity, novelties and traditions, relaxation and sporting activities. All the tastes are satisfied there: Belle-époque villa, cottage, chalet, castles at the edge of the water. Many activities are possible within this beautiful seaside resort: rest, sailing, beach volley, thalassotherapy, kite festival. And of course, good food is also there (oysters).
In La Rochelle, relax and enjoy life: stroll through the small streets, among the covered shops and markets, discover the local crafts, enjoy the local ice creams, alcohols and seafood. And to observe the whole city, climb to the top of the two Towers of the Port.
