Amiens is a very historic and cultural city. First of all, let's talk about its cathedral, twice listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 13th century, it is one of the largest gothic buildings, totaling 42 meters in height and 145 meters in length. The Saint-Pierre abbey, with a Gothic style, the Saint-Leu district and the castle of Folleville is also worth a look. Many museums are also present, some located in historic buildings: the House of Jules Verne, the Museum of Picardie, the Citadel of Doulens, the Lombart Museum...
A medieval city, facing the Bay of Somme, located on a limestone promontory, Saint-Valery-Sur-Somme has had an important history thanks to its strategic position. By visiting it will be able to retrace the history of illustrious characters such as Joan of Arc and Guillaume the Conqueror ... You will discover the medieval architecture, its ramparts, the Guillaume towers, the typical church, the charming streets, paved and bordered with flowers. To discover the world of fishermen, stroll on the quays and gaze at the colorful houses of the fishermen. To admire the Baie de Somme, you have several lookouts: the Calvaire des Marins, the tip of Cape Hornu, the Chapel of sailors, the Lighthouse at the end of the dike and the Guillaume towers. Do not hesitate to stroll through the markets, to stock up on fresh and local products, to visit the Herbarium of the ramparts and to travel aboard the small steam train.

The Baie de Somme National Nature Reserve is home to the magnificent Marquenterre Bird Park. In the latter, thousands of birds, insects, amphibians and mammals take refuge. Many activities are proposed in order to discover the Park differently. In addition to its 3 self-guided species observation trails, you can board a horse-drawn carriage to discover peacefully the Baie de Somme and its exceptional flora and fauna. Workshops will also allow you to discover with your children the faculties of birds. You can even observe the park before opening its doors to the general public and you will be guided by a specialist. It's clear as day, in the Somme, you will truly discover nature.
